Who we are

AI Cilantro (aicilantro.com) is an independent affiliate review and comparison site for AI and SaaS tools. We operate a weekly newsletter and publish deal pages, reviews, and comparisons. This policy applies to all pages on aicilantro.com and the newsletter at newsletter.aicilantro.com.

What data we collect

We collect minimal data. Here's what and why:

• Email address

  Collected when you subscribe to the newsletter. Used to send the weekly AI Cilantro newsletter. Stored and managed by Beehiiv (our newsletter platform). We do not sell email addresses or share them with third parties for marketing.

• Affiliate click data

  When you click an affiliate link, the affiliate network (Impact, PartnerStack, FirstPromoter, Rewardful, or similar) drops a tracking cookie. This records the click so we can earn a commission if you purchase. We don't see your personal information. Only the network tracks whether a referral converted.

• Analytics (aggregated)

  We use privacy-friendly site analytics to understand which pages are read most. This data is aggregated and not tied to individuals. No cross-site tracking. We do not use Google Analytics.

• Nothing else

  We don't collect names, phone numbers, payment information, or any other personal data. We don't run advertising platforms, retargeting pixels, or behavioral tracking.

Cookies

This site uses cookies in two contexts:

• Affiliate tracking cookies: set by third-party affiliate networks when you click a deal link. Duration varies by program (30 to 365 days depending on the tool). These enable us to earn commissions at no extra cost to you. You can opt out by not clicking affiliate links or by using a browser that blocks third-party cookies.
• Analytics cookies: lightweight, privacy-friendly, no cross-site tracking. Session-based.
• Newsletter form: the signup form on our /newsletter/ page is an embedded Beehiiv form. When that page loads, Beehiiv's form script runs and Beehiiv may set cookies or collect technical data (such as your IP address) under Beehiiv's privacy policy. No other page on this site loads third-party scripts.

This is a static site. We set no persistent first-party tracking cookies ourselves.

Third-party processors

Data passes through these third parties as part of normal site operation:

• Beehiiv: newsletter platform. Stores subscriber email addresses. Subject to Beehiiv's privacy policy.
• Netlify: website hosting. Processes server access logs (IP addresses, request paths) for security and performance. Subject to Netlify's privacy policy.
• Affiliate networks (Impact, PartnerStack, FirstPromoter, Rewardful): track affiliate link clicks and conversions. Each has its own privacy policy. We have no control over data collected after you click through to a third-party tool.
• Third-party tools: once you leave aicilantro.com and visit a tool's website, that tool's own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for their data practices.

How we use your data

• Email addresses: to send the weekly AI Cilantro newsletter you subscribed to
• Affiliate click data: to track whether a referral earned us a commission (we never see your personal information in this process)
• Analytics: to understand site performance and which content is most useful
• We do not use data for advertising, retargeting, or selling to third parties

Your rights

Depending on where you are, you may have the following rights:

• Unsubscribe: every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Use it at any time to stop receiving emails.
• Request deletion: email us to request deletion of your email address from our newsletter list. We'll process it within 10 business days.
• GDPR (EU/UK residents): you have the right to access, correct, port, or erase your personal data. You can object to processing or withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us.
• CCPA (California residents): you have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of sale. We do not sell personal data. Newsletter data is processed through Beehiiv, a CCPA-compliant processor.
• Opt out of affiliate tracking: you can prevent affiliate cookies by using a privacy-focused browser extension (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger) or a browser with enhanced tracking protection.

Data retention

• Newsletter email addresses: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
• Affiliate click data: retained by the affiliate network per their policy (typically 90–180 days)
• Analytics data: aggregated, not personally identifiable, retained indefinitely

Children's privacy

This site is intended for adults operating businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data through our newsletter form, contact us for removal.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our data practices change. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Significant changes will be noted in the newsletter.
