Mangools Review: The Budget SEO Tool That Punches Above Its Weight

Mangools is the right SEO tool for most small businesses, at a price that makes sense

We have used Mangools alongside Semrush for 90 days on the same site. Here is what Mangools does well, where it falls short, and whether it is the smart buy for budget-focused SEO.

Kim owns a yoga studio in Portland. She'd hired a freelance writer to produce blog content but had nothing to tell the writer to target. The five tools and what each does

• KWFinder, keyword research

  The flagship tool. Enter a seed keyword, get related keywords with search volume, keyword difficulty score, and SERP preview. The UI is the cleanest of any keyword research tool at any price. Lookups take 5-10 seconds. Reliable for content research workflows.

• SERPWatcher, rank tracking

  Track keyword positions daily with a clean dashboard. The Dominance Index metric (a composite ranking health score) is a useful single number to track trend rather than position-by-position comparisons. Tracks desktop and mobile separately.

• SERPChecker, SERP analysis

  Shows the top 10 Google results for a keyword with each result domain authority, page authority, and backlink count. Useful for quickly assessing whether you can realistically compete for a keyword.

• LinkMiner, backlink analysis

  Shows backlinks to any domain or page. Useful for researching competitor link profiles. Not as deep as Ahrefs or Semrush backlink databases, but covers the main link opportunities.

• SiteProfiler, domain overview

  Domain authority score, top pages, top keywords, and backlink summary for any domain. Good for quick competitive benchmarking and understanding your own site profile.

KWFinder: genuinely the best keyword research UX available

We spent about 40% of our SEO tool time in KWFinder during the 90-day test. The workflow: enter seed keyword, get 100-700 related keywords, filter by KD under 40, sort by volume, export the shortlist. That loop repeats for every content topic we research. KWFinder is faster at this specific workflow than Semrush Keyword Magic Tool, fewer clicks, faster load times, cleaner results view.

Database size matters for edge cases. Mangools has a smaller keyword database than Semrush (estimated 2.5 billion vs 25 billion). For 95% of small business keyword research on real topics, the database is more than sufficient. For competitive gap analysis across an entire niche, Semrush's bigger database finds more opportunities.

Where Mangools falls short

Two meaningful gaps:

No competitive keyword gap analysis. Mangools cannot show you "keywords competitor A ranks for that you do not." This is one of the highest-value SEO workflows and Semrush handles it exceptionally. If competitive gap analysis is a priority, use the Semrush trial for this specific task.

No technical site audit. SiteProfiler gives domain metrics but does not crawl your site for technical errors. For technical SEO, use Google Search Console (free) for critical errors and Screaming Frog (free desktop version) for full crawl analysis. Mangools does not replace this workflow.

Monthly vs annual billing

Mangools Basic lists at $30/mo.
